Symptoms

When attempting to save a new note, you encounter the following error:

“Illegal Address for field 'CN_Proc_Name' in script 'GetProcinfo'. Script Terminated”

Reason(s)

The following are the possible reasons why this error populated:

  1. The Collections Management Stored Procedures are not located in the data subfolder of the Microsoft Dynamics GP code folder.
  2. The Windows User does not have proper permissions to the folder containing the Collections Management Stored Procedures.

Resolution

These stored procedures should be located in the data subfolder of the Microsoft Dynamics GP Folder usually available at the following location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP 2010 or GP2013 or GP 2015 \Data

So if these two stored Procedures:

are located in any other folder ( for example, the GP folder

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP 2010 or GP2013 or GP 2015,

to address this issue

Step 1

Please log out of GP.

Step2

Please go to your Microsoft Dynamics Folder, by default found at the following path, if not please find your dynamics folder and look for your data folder.

Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2013\Data

If the CNPROCS.dat and CNPROCS.idx  can be located in any other folder ( for example, the GP folder

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP 2010 or GP2013 or GP 2015,

they should be moved to the Data folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\ GP 2010 or GP2013 or GP 2015\Data)

NOTE: If the files are already located in the appropriate folder, ensure that all users have ‘Full Control’ permissions to this folder.
