Build numbers do not match: Procedure Build: XXX Code Build: YYY Unable to continue
The error is usually related to some of the files not being replaced during the installation of Collections Management. The code build pulls from the CPRO.DIC file, which is unpacked when including the .cnk file. The procedure build pulls from the CNProcs.dat, CNProcs.idx, and CNProcs.bld files in the data folder within the GP code folder.
Note: The code build being larger than the procedure build in the message means the dictionary file was updated, but the procs files were not replaced. The code build being smaller than the procedure build usually means an older version of the code was installed while the procs files were not replaced.
The issue can be resolved by renaming, moving, or deleting the CPRO.dic, CNProcs.dat, CNProcs.idx, and CNProcs.bld files before reinstalling Collections Management by running the setup.exe file. Steps to resolve this issue are as follows.
- Rename the CPRO.DIC in the GP code folder.
a. The default installation path is as follows, but the actual path can be found in the Dynamics.set file used to launch GP.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2018
- Rename the CNProcs.dat, CNProcs.idx, and CNProcs.bld files in the Data folder.
a. The Data folder can be found within the GP code folder.
3. Reinstall Collections Management using the steps in the following KB article.
